Tattoo Bern

If you’re curious about what to expect on the day of your tattoo appointment, you’ve come to the right place. Here, we’ll walk you through the process so you can feel prepared and excited for your tattoo experience with Noemi Kovacs.

Meeting

You and Noemi will meet at El Mundo Tattoo & Piercing Studio, located in Bern, Spitalgass-Passage 16/18, 3rd floor. During this initial meeting, you’ll sit down together and discuss your tattoo idea once again. It’s important to clearly communicate the size, body part, style, and theme of your desired tattoo.

Health Conditions

You’ll need to fill out a contract and undergo a health consultation. This step is crucial as certain health conditions may prevent tattooing (such as being under 18, pregnant, or taking antibiotics). You can find the contract on our website.

Consultation

During this creative collaboration, you and Noemi will discuss design elements, placement options, and even consider color palettes if applicable. Noémi may offer variations or modifications that could enhance the final design, so being open to new ideas and possibilities is key.

Design

You and Noemi will sit down together to finalize your tattoo design. Noemi uses a special program on her iPad to help you visualize your new tattoo. Rather than preparing your design in advance, Noémi believes that the design process is a collaboration with the client. This way, you can see the amount of time it takes to finalize your motive.

Design Confirmation

If you’ve had a prior consultation, you’ll have the opportunity to confirm the final design, size, and placement with Noemi. This ensures that every detail aligns with your vision before the tattooing procedure begins.

Stencil

Noemi will create a stencil of the design, which helps her maintain the proportion and outlines of your design. The stencil serves as a precise guide during the tattooing process, ensuring accuracy and alignment.

Working Station Preparation

Noemi takes meticulous care in setting up her workspace, ensuring it’s clean, comfortable, and conducive to a positive experience. She’ll prepare the tattoo machine, needles, ink, and more.

Skin Preparation

Noemi will disinfect the area of your skin where the tattoo will be placed. She may also shave off any unwanted hair and apply special skincare products.

Stencil Application

The stencil will be applied to your skin, serving as a guide during the tattooing process to ensure accuracy and alignment.

15-Minute Break

During this time, the stencil needs to dry onto your skin. You can rest, eat, drink, or use the bathroom. It’s important not to touch the tattoo area during this break.

Tattooing

You’ll be positioned in a way that is comfortable for Noemi to reach the tattoo area. Noemi will show you the tattoo machine, cartridges, and inks. Before starting the tattooing process, Noemi will wait a few minutes and ask if you’re ready. Once you give the green light, the tattooing process begins.

Regular Breaks

Approximately every 50-60 minutes, there will be a short break. Noemi understands the importance of your comfort. These breaks allow you to rest, eat, drink, use the bathroom, or smoke, while also allowing Noemi to assess her progress. It’s important not to touch your tattoo during these breaks.

Skincare

After Noemi determines that your tattoo is ready, you’ll need to remain in the studio for another 30-60 minutes. This allows your skin to rest and excess water to leave the skin. After 15 minutes, Noemi will clean your tattoo with an antibacterial foam and dry it.

Photograph / Videography

After every tattoo, Noemi takes pictures and videos for your personal records and for her portfolio.

Covering Your Tattoo

Before you leave the studio, Noemi will apply a cover folia above your tattoo to ensure that no bacteria can go under your skin until you arrive home.

Aftercare Instructions

Noemi will provide you with detailed aftercare instructions to promote proper healing and maintain the appearance of your tattoo. Your well-being remains her priority even after the tattooing process.

Scheduling Follow-Up Appointments

Once your tattoo is complete, you’ll need to schedule a follow-up appointment for a control check in 5-6 weeks. If your tattoo is not yet finished, another appointment will be scheduled in 5-6 weeks. This allows time for your skin to recover before starting the next tattoo session.

Payment

You’ll settle your remaining bill at the cashier. We accept cash, card, PayPal, and Twint.
